"Non-Dramatic Breakup Song" is about how I wish I'd experienced relationships as a young queer person. The video also conveys the concept of "breaking up" with parts of yourself you want to change - you can move on and mature, without beating yourself up for past missteps.
"Non-Dramatic Breakup Song" is the lead single from Linnea's Garden's debut EP, "Nowhere Friday Nights," which will be released March 5 on Red on Red Records.
lyrics
You were a cool girl, but it didn’t work out
You rock the dance floor, and you give good hugs
We had a fun time making out at clubs
It was a good one, I wasn’t ready for love
Go ahead and sing along to this non-dramatic breakup song
Neither of us were wrong, but I’d rather be alone than date you
I don’t have to hate you
We were so punk rock, with our grown-out roots
We took a photo, yeah we looked real cute
You were so tall in those high-heeled boots
It was a good one, I wasn’t ready for you
Go ahead and sing along to this non-dramatic breakup song
Neither of us were wrong, but I’d rather be alone than date you
I don’t have to hate you
And at the party, I see you talking to
Another pretty girl in eyeliner
I think I’m happy for what we were
It was a good one, but it didn’t work
Go ahead and sing along to this non-dramatic breakup song
Neither of us were wrong, but I’d rather be alone than date you
I don’t have to hate you
